Course Records

We're going to set up an official un-official records list for area trails, trail climbs, and test-pieces.  The inspiration for this idea was Bill Wright's records list for the Boulder area.  I don't know if Bill has updated his list in a while, but back in the day we used to be familiar with the top times on all area routes, and could point out a record-holder if we saw them out on the trail or a bar.

Bill's list of Longs Peak records can be found here. We were particularly awed by the Longs Peak duathlon distance (biking from Boulder to the LP trailhead, summiting by foot, and biking back to town), although we never made a serious attempt.  We knew it as Super Long's, and we felt that it was the calling card of a serious hardman.  I made a go at Super Baldy in July 2010, via mountain bike and Winsor trail.  I felt a death march coming on so I turned it around at Puerto Penasco. 

Same idea goes for our list here.  In the absence of deeper performances I'm going to mark some of the records with my own best times.  Please submit your own records (or others'), routes, linkups, and tales to help build out the list:  highdesertdirt-at_gmail.com
